Dear brothers of the UFME,

May the Lord give you His peace!

I address all the UFME members with regard to the General Assembly scheduled for the coming October 19-23 in Medjugorje.

Last May, the Permanent Council made the decision, in this respect, to postpone the meeting – the UFME Assembly – to better times.

It should be added that the authorities in Sarajevo have recently adopted entry restrictions for foreign citizens travelling to Bosnia and Herzegovina, because of the extension of the state of health emergency due to COVID-19. Moreover, the situation could further worsen in autumn.

Therefore, I would like to inform you that, for the sake of being reasonably prudent, the Council decided to cancel the General Assembly in Medjugorje!

As soon as there is some news, particularly in the event of positive epidemiological developments, the Council will reconsider the possibility to hold the above-mentioned meeting.

Peace and Good!

Fr. Miljenko Šteko, President
